Prior to Fu Manchu there was Virulence. Influenced by Black Flag and Melvins, Virulence released one single album on
Alchemy Records, the label that not only released Melvins' first record, the amazing 'Gluey Porch Treatments,' but was
also founded by Mark Deutrom who would later play bass for Melvins. Anyway, you get the idea, Virulence is hard and
heavy but also slow and crushing, brutal yet gentle, punishing while pardoning.
